And hopefully not the bank. I got inspired on another blog about this book, ‘Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day’. It seems simple enough, you mix a big amount of dough and use it as you need it. I was all set to give it a go, when I found that I needed a bread brick, peel and storage for the dough. Shari and I were laughing because I was hoping to save money by baking my own bread, and at this rate any loaf is going to be about $35 bucks. Perhaps my next post will be of a gorgeous crusty loaf of baked goodness. At any rate here it is rainy and grey, so a good day for baking.

Hi Ingrid,
We recommend the stone to get the best crust but you can certainly bake the bread on a cookie sheet if you don’t own a baking stone. Make sure to use the steam in the oven and you will still get a lovely loaf of bread.
Thank you so much for trying the bread!
As you bake through the book be sure to check out our errata sheet on the website for the errors we missed while editing.
