Here are my two samples that Judy-Sue assigned me. She and her team at the studio suggested many things, and I tried to incorporate them all. Some of things they said were: that I needed a main character, that for the trade market the work couldn’t be as decorative, and to have some breathing room. They also thought I should experiment with a wash of color in the background and to try using a colored paper for the cut part. I’m off to mail these to the studio and will have my fingers crossed that they come close to what they want.

Sophia was flush with cat-sitting money yesterday, so we headed to Westerly. We brought a picnic lunch to have in Wilcox Park and spent some time in the library.
The highlight of course was Sophia’s favorite shop, Hammon House, where she got a new set of Japanese erasers. A good day!
